St. Mary's School Makronia, Sagar is a Christian minority educational institution established and managed by Sagar Diocesan Service Society, Sagar. The school was established in 1995 for boys and girls started at Bararu and then shifted to Makronia, Sagar and has become one of the premier educational institutions catering to the needs of Sagar. It stands to meet the intellectual, cultural, emotional and physical developments of the children of Sagar.

The institution is known for its excellence in discipline, education and leadership. The instruments used in the realization of this character formation are the teachers, parents, and healthy environment. The school is totally private, un-aided and does not receive any grant-in-aid from any government departments. The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi. AIMS & OBJECTIVES

We want all our students to attain outstanding academic results and the personal confidence and self belief to enable them to be successful individuals at every stage of their lives and thereby become ideal citizen of our nation. We are therefore committed to providing an environment in which every child will be encouraged and supported, while developing the learning skills and curiosity they will need to be able to set and reach their goals. We want the children to discover their passions and achieve in all areas including sport, music, drama and the arts, while being empowered to contribute to the lives of others, making an active and positive difference to the world around them. Our aim to provide an excellent and broad academic education for children between the ages of 3 - 18. We intend that all students:

  • will be able to develop their creative, aesthetic, practical, physical, emotional and spiritual qualities and talents as fully as possible;
  • will be treated as individuals and helped to fulfill their potential and identify their strengths;
  • will become confident, well-balanced individuals, able to take their places in society as good citizens and leaders, and able to form strong and enduring relationships with others.

 

ADMISSION:

Admission to the school is restricted to the seats available. It is open to all competent students irrespective of caste, creed, language and economic conditions. All students are bound to abide by the rules and regulations set by the management of the school from time to time. Every child that walks into the school from its earlier stages gets the utmost care.

Being a minority institution, the Principal

reserves the right to admit students of the Catholic minority community on a preferential basis with or without some concession in the matter of criteria for eligibility stated above.

A pupil who joins afresh from home or from any other school has to produce his/her official birth certificate and transfer certificate in support of the date of birth entered in the admission form. Birth certificates issued by the municipal authorities or baptismal certificate shall be held valid. The date of birth as recorded by the authorities shall be considered legally correct and no change or alteration will be allowed later on.

Out of special consideration for members of the teaching staff, this school reserves the right to admit their children on preferential basis with or without some concession to the above stated norms subject to the discretion of the Principal.

The Principal reserves the right and discretion to admit or not to admit any student without assigning any reason for it and his decision shall be final.

  1. The Management holds the right to determine on what condition it will admit or retain pupils in the school.
  2. Generally, children are admitted to Nursery On line form filled by parents in the month of January. The minimum age of admission to Nursery is three years. Birth Certificate (issued by the Municipality and Panchayat are valid) SSSM ID, Adhar No. must be produced at the time of admission. No admission will be given without the necessary documents.
  3. For admission to classes other than Nursery, the student must undergo an entrance examination both written and oral. If passed in this test he/ she may be admitted provided he/she submits:
  4. a) Transfer certificate from the school last attended duly Countersigned by the eligible authority.
  5. b) Mark list of the last examination passed.
  6. A student who passes class UKG (K.G. II) has to take new admission for class I.

ADMISSION TO CLASS-1

  1. For admission, priority is given to our own students. Fresh admissions to this class are made only when laying vacant seat.
  2. Aadhar card, Samagra ID, Caste Certificate: (SC, ST, OBC) Bank Passbook Xerox, (for all Nur to XII students)
  3. For Class I admission Parents should submit 2 passport size photographs of the child, photocopy of mark sheet of UKG along with the admission form.
  4. Re-admission takes place after the declaration of result of UKG
  5. There is no regular registration for other classes and admission to such classes are only when vacancies occur.

ADMISSION TO CLASS X & XII IS NOT ENCOURAGED.

ADMISSION TO CLASS XI

  1. Class X is a terminal stage in the secondary school scheme of education followed by this school. Hence admission to class XI in this school shall be a fresh admission.
  2. Academic performance in Class X examination alone is not the criteria for admission. Regularity in attendance, consistent academic performance in classes VIII, IX and X together with good conduct and behavior are essential.
  3. The School Management will allot faculties and optional subjects to the students according to the percentage of the yearly performance. Optional subjects once selected by the students cannot be changed after Board registration.
  4. Students appearing for supplementary exams of X are not eligible for admission in XI.
  5. Admission of all the students shall be subject to scrutiny by the Principal. The decision of the Principal shall be conclusive and final.

 

 

STREAMS

The school has three streams-PCM, PCB and Commerce. Streams will be allotted according to the following criteria.

GRADE POINT For Admission in XI

PCM 80% and above (in Maths & Science Grade A1,A2) PCB 75% and above (in Maths & Science Grade B1) Commerce 60% and above (Grade B2)

The optional subjects offered by the school are Informatics Practices (IP) Physical Education (PE) and Hindi for XI & XII Std.

EXAMINATION & PROMOTION RULES

  1. The final assessment of a student for promotion shall be decided by the rules of the CBSE Board.
  2. Improvement test will be conducted for those students who get less than 33% in two subjects for classed III to VIII & one subject for IX & XI.
  3. There will be no change in the exam date if the student is absent or sick.
  4. A minimum attendance of 75% is must throughout the year for final promotion.
  5. Absence from a subject excludes a pupil from being graded in the subject which will disqualify him/her for proficiency award.
  6. Once the result is declared, it shall be considered as final.

WITHDRAWAL

  1. A calendar month notice is to be given before the withdrawal of a student, payment of fee for one term (three months) will be charged in lieu thereof. Fee of vacation and holidays shall be inclusive, if the withdrawal coincides with any vacation.
  2. No transfer certificate will be issued unless all school dues and other relevant arrears have been paid fully, in cash. Library books, sports items, school official badges etc. must also be returned. The application form for a transfer certificate as given in this diary should be filled.
  3. Students leaving the school mid-session shall pay the full fee for the full academic session.

SCHOOL TIMINGS

This academic year begins in the month of April and ends in the month of March.

Note: The school timings may be adjusted during winter and examination. Students will be informed about the change from time to time.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

The School uniform must be worn on every school day. Uniforms may be privately tailored but the prescribed shape and pattern must be carefully adhered to. Any deviation will not be accepted. The sample pattern is available in the school office.

A student who is not dressed neatly in the full school uniform may not be permitted to sit in the class. The new admissions must have the school uniform within two weeks of their admission. Strict measures will be taken against those who ignore the rules concerning the uniform.
